During the pandemic, Mike would go to "Wine Wednesdays"—a weekly hangout where friends would gather drink wine, and play games. It was a small but much-needed escape from the isolation, a way to stay connected during an uncertain time. One Wednesday, Brittany hosted, inviting Jess to join the fun. When Brittany mentioned they’d be working on a puzzle, Jess hesitated. Puzzles weren’t her thing, and the idea of sitting there trying to piece together a hundred tiny bits of cardboard didn’t excite her. But the thought of wine and catching up with friends was an easy sell, so she agreed to go. The conversation flowed easily between the two, but the real fun began when Mike, ever the competitive spirit, suggested a friendly challenge—an Apple Watch competition. They exchanged phone numbers and set up the challenge: who could log the most activity over the next week? Jess, always up for a bit of competition, eagerly accepted. However, despite her best efforts, she found herself losing week after week. But she wasn’t entirely disappointed. Thanks to Snapchat, Mike’s name popped up as a recent contact, and on a whim, she added him. Soon later, Mike surprised her with a message: "Hey, what are you doing Saturday?" He had tickets to see The Killers at Little Caesars Arena, one of his all-time favorite modern rock bands. Jess, was always up for a new adventure, and quickly agreed. An Uber was ordered, and the two of them headed downtown to experience the music, the energy, and, most importantly, each other’s company. At the concert, Jess learned just how passionate Mike was about The Killers. It wasn’t just a band to him—it was a piece of his soul, woven into the fabric of his memories and experiences. This night was about them sharing something meaningful, something that would bond them beyond the puzzle, the competition, and the wine. Their first adventure took them to Las Vegas for a weekend getaway, where Jess ran the “Strip at Night Half Marathon” and Mike popped up at multiple mile post cheering her on. After coming home they decided to plan a trip to Iceland. Where they would do a a week long road trip hiking and embracing the beautiful scenery. On their last night there, they watched the northern lights dance across the sky, talking about life, dreams, and everything in between. Over the next year, their relationship blossomed. They traveled to new cities, tried new restaurants, ran together and grew to be best friends. Whether it was a relaxing weekend up north, or a week traveling through Ireland, they found that their best memories were made when they were together. It wasn’t long before the conversations shifted to plans for the future. As much as they both loved to travel, they both realized that the best part of every trip was spending non-stop time together. It was officially time to move in together. After fully adjusting and loving every moment of calling a house our home Mike got down on one knee in the kitchen and decided he couldn’t imagine life without Jess she of course said yes! They went out to dinner at there favorite Italian restaurant (Pop's For Italian) and celebrate the beautiful adventure they will call the rest of their lives. And so, from puzzles and Apple Watch competitions to concerts, travels, and so many shared memories, their journey together had come full circle. Mike and Jess were no longer just two people who had met over a wine-fueled game night; they were partners, best friends, and on June 28th will become husband and wife. Their adventures are far from over. In fact, they are only just beginning! We cannot wait to celebrate with all of you!
